Urbanism - Blog 8

This semester i really like the subject “urban sustainability”, is the only urbanistic signature that i have this semester, is entertaining and the professor is very sympathetic and understanding. I like the text that we have to read, the first text was one from Manfred Max-Neef, a chilean alternative economist, was easy to understand, very explicative and interesting, also we have to read a classic from the urbanism theory “A City is Not a Tree” from Christopher Alexander. Other thing that i like is the team works, the first work that we have to made was a video from some urbanistic problem in Santiago, other work was to create a new ecologic district, making planimetry, 3D models, etc. in this works i feel that i learn a lot, and also was creative and enjoying.

The class usually begins with the professor explaining new matter in a powerpoint, or they show us a video, like “ted talks”, and other class are revision from the works that we made, so in this classes the professor and the assistant guide us to advance in the work.

    Urbanism is a very important area of Architecture that we must consider at our professional career.

The blog experience was new, never before I have a blog, and I am a really bad writer, am not used to write about anything, I am very bad for that in general, it’s hard to me interlacing the words, especially if it is in English. But to think about all this was a good experience, you learn a lot when you have to write and look for new words that you did not know before. Also one opens his mind and becomes more creative, in each blog already had a rhythm and I was less able to write it, one develops an ability to write, also the topics of blogs were entertaining, especially in which one that we had to talk about things that we like. Of course, what I dislike most was the class when we have to write a blog and we can’t see the football match between Chile and Portugal for the semifinals of the confederation cup. Autobiography - Blog 1

I born in 1997, Chile, from my childhood i have very few memories, i have bad memory in general, i remember that was a happy boyhood, principally because I live in big plot with my brothers and cousins, so I was very accompany and I have very fun playing in the ground with my cousins. Later when I enter to the school, I made new friends, but I didn’t like too much go, I preferred stay at home, so I miss constantly to classes. In secondary I go to study tour with my class, and was a very good moment, later in the next year, my final year at school, I didn’t know what I want to do with me future, so I did the PSU with no knowledge of what I want to study, finally I decide to study architecture and enter to the university.

I visit this page often, not every day, usually when i need find information from some project, architect or building, they always have a good review and good photos, from example once i need find some information from the national library of france, so i search that in google and the first link that apperar was from this website, so i open it and they a have a complete report of the library and his architect, also they show very good pictures in good quality.
